About Kathy Lewis

Owner and Founder of Capstone Institute of Mortgage Finance™

The owner and founder of Capstone Institute of Mortgage Finance™, Kathy Lewis has over 35 years of experience in the mortgage industry. Before founding Capstone Institute™ she successfully served as President of a mortgage company and spent 5 years as Vice President for one of the largest homebuilders in the Southeast. Kathy was also one of the first women builders in Georgia. Before taking a leap in faith and becoming a builder, Kathy served as an on-site subdivision sales person, where she sold over 160 homes in one year when interest rates were 16%. In 1977 she became a VA Certified Plan Reviewer and later became an FHA Direct Endorsement Underwriter.

In 1986 Kathy saw the drastic need for quality training that focused on the basics and she started one of the first mortgage training schools in the United States. Her mission for the company is simple:

Kathy's dedication and expertise has gained her recognition as a popular guest speaker and trainer for Mortgage Broker and Banker Associations, as well as the top lenders across the country. In 1998 the Department of HUD honored Kathy by requesting her to instruct FHA staff members in all of their National Home Ownership Centers.

Drawing upon these experiences, Kathy Lewis has personally authored more than 51 technical training manuals for Capstone. These training manuals are renowned for their technical accuracy and common sense approach. With the influx of people changing careers and looking towards the mortgage industry, Kathy has begun offering life and business coaching for individuals.

Kathy is also the founder of the Capstone Spiritual Foundation, which is dedicated to transforming lives through spiritual principle and practice. She also works closely with The Center For Children and Young Adults, assisting young people to create positive situations in their lives.
